I am a sustainability researcher and lecturer based at University College London.
My work examines how waste, energy, and circular economy systems can contribute to net-zero goals without hiding environmental trade-offs. I use life cycle assessment to compare emerging thermochemical pathways for waste treatment, low-carbon hydrogen production, and chemical recycling in the UK context.
I am especially interested in the assumptions that sit behind sustainability claims: feedstock composition, functional units, allocation methods, future energy systems, counterfactual waste treatment, and the boundaries chosen around a technology. These choices shape what counts as a benefit, what remains uncertain, and where further optimisation is needed.
At UCL, I teach across resource, renewable energy, and environmental economics topics. My applied work has included life cycle assessment and advisory projects for industry and public sector contexts, with a focus on evidence-based decision support.
